The Extron VSC 500 High Resolution Computer-to-Video Scan Converter combines high performance processing, features, and value. The VSC 500 accepts computer-video signals with resolution up to 1600 x 1200 and outputs a scan converted NTSC or PAL video signal as composite video, S-video, component video, and/or RGB video. <p>Applications include videoconferencing, video recording, and viewing the images on a PAL or NTSC monitor or other display device. Key features include Auto-Image setup for automatic adjustment of centering, sizing, and filter settings; zoom control up to 200%; an LCD display for user-friendly menu navigation; memory presets; and a buffered loop-through for local monitor output. <p>The VSC 500 can be controlled via the front panel, IR remote, or RS-232 and RS-422 serial commands.

Filters reduce jitter, improve image stability, and assure that minimal picture detail is dropped during scan conversion.</li> <li><strong>Auto-Image&#153; automatically optimizes output </strong><BR> A press of a button automatically adjusts the sizing, centering, and filtering to optimize the output image. This can save time and effort in fine tuning displayed images.</li> <li><strong>Horizontal and vertical sizing, zooming, and panning </strong><BR> The VSC 500 features variable zoom up to 200% to allow for panning across the screen. User-friendly positioning, including centering and sizing, is accessible through the front panel for quick and efficient image setup.</li> <li><strong>Autoscanning of computer-video inputs </strong><BR> Automatically recognizes and converts incoming computer-video signals at resolutions up to 1600 x 1200, horizontal scan rates up to 100 kHz, and vertical refresh rates up to 120 Hz.</li> <li>60 factory and 16 user auto-memory presets for picture control settings</li> <li><strong>Eight zoom presets </strong><BR> Eight zoom presets are available for recalling size, position, and filtering, accessible via the optional IR, RS-232, or RS-422. This feature enables the user to quickly zoom in on a certain area of an image.</li> <li><strong>Image freeze control </strong><BR> The output video of the VSC 500 can be frozen using the freeze button on the front panel. This feature allows the scan converter to capture a frame of video to display for an extended period of time, even after the source has been removed.</li> <li><strong>Internal color bar generator </strong><BR> The VSC 500 includes a color bar pattern for simplified set-up of a display.
